Date Only format in Dynamics 365:

You all must have seen amazing Trick created by Amaury Veron named "Working with Dates in Dynamics 365"? If no, be quick and read it fast @ link

In this Trick I will show you how does one particular field setting looks in DB and in Dynamics 365 setting, that setting is "Date Only".

Since my organization works in two independant time zones in two parts of the world, we needed this change. Before we made a change to "Date Only", time conversions moved by couple of hours making date slip on day before or day after, or in some cases one month before(e.g. from 01.12.2020 to 30.11.2020).

Image below shows dates in DB before setting to "Date Only" was set.

In before data you can see that all times are always around 04:00:00 and 23:00:00.

In after data you can see that all times are set to 00:00:00, which fixed problem of day slipping, since there is no time zone conversion.

Pay attention to yellow triangle which actually tells about two above images how data would look in DB.

Important thing to keep in mind before making this change, when Behavior and Format are set to "Date Only" there is no reverting back, which is why all fields are grayed out.

That's all for todays Trick :)
